Halving

The bitcoin halving is the halving of the amount of new bitcoin that comes into circulation. The new bitcoins are found by miners. The amount of the subsidy, i.e. the amount of bitcoin that the miners receive, is halved approximately every 4 years. This will continue until the number of 21 million specified in the source code is in circulation.
