Private key

The private key is a long code like the public key, starting with 0x(...). Private keys are stored in a wallet, or managed by exchanges, for example. When a transaction is made, it must be signed with the private key. It is very important that the private key never comes into the possession of malicious parties. It is therefore strongly recommended to secure them properly.
